Search Tips (FAQ)

How To Search Within This Transcript:
  • In order to search for a particular topic, depress the "Ctrl" and "F" keys simultaneously and a "Search" window will appear at the lower left of the screen.
  • Type in the word or words you wish to locate within this transcript. (Note: this search will only find more than one word when they are grouped together and match exactly. For example: if you type "child abuse" in the search window, the search will only locate the phrase "child abuse" NOT "child-abuse". In this case, typing simply "child" will assist you in finding the appropriate dialogue in the interview.)
  • To the right of the "Find" window are several navigational buttons to assist in finding the places within the transcript where the word or phrase appears. Each instance will be highlighted and each subsequent/previous instance can be located by depressing either the "Find Next" or "Find Previous" button.
  • In order to view the video which corresponds to a particular paragraph in the transcript, just "click" anywhere within that paragraph and a video player will pop up on the screen.
  • The video will begin within a second or two of the desired dialogue and will "play" until manually stopped by clicking on the "x" in the upper right hand corner of the player screen. Controls similar to a tape player/VCR will appear at the bottom of the video screen. There is a "sliding mechanism" above these common buttons which makes it easy for the video to be "advanced" or "rewound" as desired.
